Last night, Adriaan Basson of the City Press and Mzilikazi wa Afrika of the Sunday Times spoke to 200 people at Lookout Hill in Khayelitsha.
Basson explained City Press’s reporting on the head of SAPS Crime Intelligence Richard Mdluli and the string of crimes, including murder, that he has allegedly committed.
Wa Afrika told how the Sunday Times exposed Police Commissioner Bheki Cele’s involvement in an allegedly corrupt R1.7 billion expenditure on a building lease. He also told talked about how he was arrested because of this story and is now suing the state for damages.
The event was organised by Ndifuna Ukwazi. The organisation is organising monthly public meetings in Khayelitsha.
